You know it's a fancy place when they serve their Diet Pepsi like this. :)

The only true way to use emacs on a Mac is on one of these. :P

Wynoochee Lake really is far out there! (More photos to come later.) #motorcycle

Let's not forget where we came from.

We Distribute, Part I: The Road to Federation by @Sean Tilley

In the beginning, there was Laconica, which later became known as StatusNet. A massive amount of the work that went into this is due to Evan Prodromou ( @Evan Prodromou ) , who is now spearheading an effort to standardize work on a communication protocol with the W3C Social Working Group.

As a networking project, it was the first public implementation of the communication protocol known as OpenMicroBlogging, which later evolved into the OStatus protocol. These technologies provided a significant building block for future federated networking projects to study and reference.

In terms of how StatusNet was used, it resembled an early version of Twitter, with the added benefit of group functionality. What made it unique is that users on one Laconica server could communicate with users on completely different servers.

I appreciate being able to go faster for longer muscle-wise now, but my lungs can't keep up. I think that's why I keep hitting my oxygen wall. #cycling #bicycle #mastobikes #biketooter

4.0mm is most definitely not a large enough hole for an M5 tap. >:(

People love to shit on minivans today, but they honestly are extremely space efficient for their capacity. They also have a short, sloping hood so you don't have the front blind spot as much as today's SUVs and pickups, and are easier to get in and out of. (Photo source)

Closest we have now in the US is something like this. More capacity than today's F-150, but a wheelbase like a sedan. (This is not a kei truck.)

Who remembers utes in the US? (1, 2)

I saw a Honda Rune going down the road while out on my ride today. #motorcycle

I still think about how I rode across the E 11th Street #Bridge in #Tacoma not long before it was shut down. At the time, the outer lanes were closed to reduce traffic loads on the old bridge, and it's currently being demolished. (1, 2)

The grated bridge deck of the truss portion was not fun on 32mm touring tires! :O #cycling #bicycle #mastobikes

Just got back from a nice little car #camping trip at the Riffe Lake Campground with @clover . We had a great time, but we'll definitely come more prepared next time we go camping. Also, we'll choose accommodations less cramped than the back of our RAV4! (More photos to come later.) #motorcycle
