A nice little spin over some familiar roads while I wait for Chinook Pass to open. This bike is so much fun! (Album (more photos)) #motorcycle

I have always found them usefull... It is also hard to tell the diffence between 12,500 rpm and 13,500 rpm.
It is not "good form" to rely on the rev-limiter.
@gpumoto
Anything that runs two-stroke or has more than one cylinder, a tachometer is definitely useful.
But riding something like a DR650SE big ol single cylinder I don't miss the tach' while thumping along. It's very plain where the (nice) torque plateaus, and single cyl torque is forgiving all the way up the gears. That stated, I still wouldn't mind a tach' when riding one.

Nice! The CRFs are great bikes. I've been really happy with my CRF300 Rally.
Did you end up selling the Ninja 1000SX then?
Nah, I bought my 450 over a year before selling my Ninja.
My Ninja's replacement is a CBR650R. :) (Original)

I think so. I want one, but haven't gotten around to buying one yet.
I've got my eye on the Helite Turtle 2, which is mechanical rather than battery-powered. Having to use a tether is inconvenient, but I won't have to keep it charged. It's also easy to replace your own canisters.
The various electronic vests have some really impressive tech though!

Just got a nice message from my dad, who I worked on the air filter swap with. :3
Just wanted to tell you that you had tenacity and will today, which drove the air cleaner change-up. As you know, I was reluctant to proceed. That was mainly due to my lack of knowledge on the hardware, which made me worry about breaking something by proceeding. Just wanted to let you know that your determination made some success out of what I read as a "no go" situation. Well done, young man! I'm proud of you & that facet of you! They used to call that grit or true grit!

Had a blast riding over Stevens Pass, Blewett Pass, and Snoqualmie Pass over the weekend! I finally became comfortable with counterleaning allowing me to put my CBR650R to good use on twisty roads, and the Corbin saddle with 2" extra height over the stock seat saved my knees and wrists. This bike is so much fun! (Album (more photos))

My first longer ride on the new bike! While I had a ton of fun, this ride also taught me that the bike really needs a higher seat to make my knees and wrists happy. The pain became unbearable at times. (Album (more photos))
Thankfully, I had ordered a custom taller seat a little while back and it wouldn't be long until it arrived.

Probably Honda's Strangest Motorcycle
The Honda CX500 and later CX650 are some of the oddest motorcycles to ever come from the company. And they worked

I had a GL650 when I did dispatch riding. A GL is a CX with a fairing, wide bars and a bigger tank. The fairing and bars got dumped after an accident anyway. Pretty much every dispatch rider in London at the time had either a Honda CX500/650 or Kawasaki Z550. The shaft drive was great, no more chain tensioning/oiling. But the front end wasn't up to the job and combined with the shaft jacking made it an interesting ride at times.
Mate had a turbo - think hippo on acid.

Took my new CBR650R on a spin through the Cascade Foothills to see the new Oso Landslide Memorial. The memorial was cool, but riding at 40 MPH north of Monroe was honestly pretty boring! (Album (more photos))

Apparently my CBR650R makes both more torque and more horsepower than the CB750 of old. :3c
It also makes slightly more horsepower than the new CB750 Hornet twin, but less torque.

the CBR650R gets most of it out of the revs, HP is obvious, but Torque is almost same, just at higher revs.
Both a 4 cylinders, the new CB750 Hornet is a paralleltwin.
The motor from the old CB750 is similar to the CBX750, and this motor provided more HP and torque, even with higher revs.

You mean the CB1 wasn't 1cc? :P
Honda should really bring the CB400SF and CB1300SF to the US. Both are great bikes from what I've read.
Yeah, that is Honda... They will keep you guessing.
I guess if they thought they could sell them they would.
Most riders: "I need to mount my phone to my handlebars!"
Me: Phone stored in luggage, standalone GPS on handlebars. :3
