I think so. There are plenty of accident reports showing their use. I like my Helite E Turtle 2. I don’t ride without it. I’ve even been considering their airbag jeans, but would like to read a review on them first.

I've got my eye on the Helite Turtle 2, which is mechanical rather than battery-powered. Having to use a tether is inconvenient, but I won't have to keep it charged. It's also easy to replace your own canisters.
The various electronic vests have some really impressive tech though!
