Ninja went down today. My partner said that there was a car behind us when I was trying to get my garage opener out and it got me all stressed out. After descending the ramp past the door, I tripped and fell.

No injuries to me, and My partner was already off the bike. Bike needs a new clutch lever, but the rest of the damage is only cosmetic from what I can tell. Hate how the plastic looks with the scratches.

Today was a long day with all kinds of challenging riding situations, and I fell at the easiest and most familiar time. Sounds like me.

Learning a new skill like this is always fraught with damage. Back when I was getting into # shortly after learning how to ride a bike to begin with (as an adult), I dealt with several months of ending up in the emergency room because of concussions from crashes. Since then, I've never hit my head again while cycling. #

Hopefully # riding will settle down for me soon.

I thought the autoblipper would be really nice, but I could honestly take it or leave it after riding with it for a while. The upward quickshifter, however, is very convenient! #

In a strange way, the inline 4 in my Ninja takes less finesse at low revs and speeds than the parallel twin in my Bonneville. Interesting how rev-biased engines behave so differently from torque-biased engines. #motorcycle (1, 2)

Makes me glad I didn't settle for a Ninja 650 or Z650RS. Both are great bikes, but I wanted the same inline 4 experience I had when test riding a bike a while back! #

My paranoia and anxiety worsen as I experience more life.

For example, I used to love #bicycle touring on the open highway, but now I'm too scared that some driver will run me down, intentionally or otherwise. #cycling (Original)

While #motorcycle riding isn't as safe as driving, at least I can get going fast enough to avoid a lot of the situations a bicycle cannot. Plus, a motorcycle has much more road presence than a bicycle. (Original)

Had a lovely ride out along the Olympic Peninsula a few weeks back. Plenty of fast-paced rural highway riding, including keeping up with a guy on a big scooter going 90! #motorcycle

Took me a long time to get this out because I was working on my tag editor.

I kind of want one of these someday, but I doubt it'll ever happen. #motorcycle

@clover and I rode my new Ninja 1000SX for the first time today. Because of the weather, we only went out to Snohomish for breakfast. Jake's Cafe on Second street was packed for of Americana, good food, and lots of customers! #motorcycle (1, 2)

After selling my Suzuki Burgman 400, I put a deposit on a 2021 Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX. Since it was all the way in Lacey, my partner drove us down I-5 there and we spent the light so we could pick it up in the morning. She followed me back up the Kitsap Peninsula to Bremerton, a route I chose to avoid traffic around Tacoma and Kent/Auburn, which ended up taking far longer than either of us expected. I missed the turn for SR-3 in Shelton, so we ended up crossing over to the west side of the peninsula before heading towards Bremerton, and the ferry had a nearly two hour wait! #motorcycle

Almost looks like it could've been taken decades ago. #motorcycle #texaco

False Spring was very kind to us. I had a great ride to Elbe and back and saw all kinds of people on motorcycles! #motorcycle
