Personal growth is hard when you leave no room (time) for it.

Since #YouTube keeps wanting to shove #USpol garbage down my throat, I guess it's time to say goodbye to it, too. :/

Taking control of my media diet since the supply side can't be trusted. >:(

Getting #YouTube ads for rich people things like investment, cosmetics, and so on while watching a video about the #Helene disaster recovery in and around #Asheville is a juxtaposition that really puts things into perspective. :/

And the fact that #Helene was made as bad as it was because of rich people (and their creations like cars, etc., that the public uses) polluting the planet just makes me mad. >:(

I have my ad blocker disabled on #YouTube, but videos still keep getting stuck after 20 seconds.

What a shitty website. >:(

in reply to Neil E. Hodges

To be clear, I've had my ad blocker disabled there for over a year now.

I wouldn't mind the #YouTube ads if they wouldn't randomly break and force me to reload the page, which often results in my place in the video being lost. :/

Why does #YouTube randomly forget my position in a video when I load an existing tab? >:(

Now that #YouTube doesn't allow ad blockers anymore, watching it for any extended period of time gives me the same icky feeling that watching television does because of how obnoxious the ads are. YouTube is even worse because the ads often come at seemingly random times rather than engineered breaks like with television programming.

Rather than prompting me to pay for the premium subscription to get rid of ads, this is making me realize that I don't really need to be watching YouTube as much as I have been. It's pushing me away from the service.

These days, I'd rather read stuff, either online or offline. Videos don't keep my interest anymore.

I continue to use an ad-blocker and I just get a blank black sound-free period before the "skip ad(s)" button appears. Sometimes captions appear.

It's a bit annoying, but tolerable for the few youtube videos I sometimes watch.
