It wasn't hard, but it did take a while for me to figure out the workflow. :P I can definitely say I'm happy with the results, though.

I can't stop thinking about it. One was prosecuted by the US for downloading copyrighted data from 1 source for noble purposes, and committed suicide to avoid prison. The other is widely celebrated for doing this on a much larger scale*.

NEW: Crypto critic @molly0xfff received emails from a purported lawyer and someone working for a “reputation management company” offering bribes in exchange for the takedown of a blog post about the arrest of an alleged crypto fraudster.

The purported lawyer used a blog post made on a website apparently populated with the use of a service that offers "SEO optimized human-like content” using AI, claiming White infringed copyright.

White declined.

in reply to Kevin Karhan :verified:

@kkarhan @alexadeswift @ncommander Xenix is old, very old, so old it predates the popularity of windowing systems in computers and as far as I know does not have a x11 or even XFree86 port. And with Microsoft’s Xenix porting Wine or X might even be impossible as its only x286 architecture. x386 came only much later in versions from SCO.

The bottom guide for our hanging closet door. I just put it in a few months back and it broke even though I didn't put any extra stress on it when opening the closet.

I ordered a stainless replacement that should last a bit longer. :3

Hopefully so.

These days there are some amazingly durable plastics, but also some real poor material, too.

#ClimateChange has irreversible consequences and costs.

"Tech companies think they can reverse climate change with fancy new tools to take carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere. But new research throws cold water on the idea that cooling the planet after it has already heated beyond a key turning point can avoid serious damage. Much of the toll climate change takes — from rising seas to lost homes — can’t be undone, recent research published in the journal Nature warns."

it won't save us from consequences already set in motion, but those are just the tip of the iceberg compared to what is coming if we don't reverse the carbon extraction (and not by pumping CO2 into the ground to make more oil come out!!)
in reply to 😀🚲

@enobacon

Agreed. I think the takeaway of the study is that it's always far cheaper, and generally better, to prevent damage rather than try to clean up after the fact.

Relying on uncertain technology to reduce the effects of climate change is far less desirable than reducing the amount we produce in the first place. That said, removing carbon (particularly in ways that work with and benefit natural ecosystems) will certainly have a role to play.

U.S. Says North Korean Troops Are in Russia to Aid Fight Against Ukraine

Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin III called the situation “very, very serious,” though he said that what the soldiers were doing in Russia was “left to be seen.”

"For weeks, the Ukrainian and South Korean governments have fueled reports that more than 12,000 North Koreans were training to fight alongside Russian soldiers"

The rally last Tuesday had over 200 people there, so let's do that again or more!

I have GPS proof of doing 155 in Nevada on a BMW K1200GT. When he pulled me over the only thing he wanted to see was the motorcycle endorsement on my license. After he saw it we chatted about bikes for about an hour and he wrote me for 5 over.

Right after that I got rid of that bike and now I ride dirt.

in reply to Neil E. Hodges

Well for that speed ticket. Know where speed control will occur or what we know, where a traffic control installation is...
Or cling to the speed limit. Hence no need for a speedier machine.....

🦝 can Mac even play games? Do they even have graphics in Mac?

Neil E. Hodges reshared this.

in reply to Jess🌺 :itsfree: :therian:

🦝 ok this is a semi serious question though because a friend of ours wants to play our game but can't because we can't make mac builds and WINE doesn't seem to work for them
in reply to Jess🌺 :itsfree: :therian: Kevin Karhan :verified: reshared this.

I know you can pre-bundle games in WINE but you might also try Whisky? https://getwhisky.app/

im not a mac user anymore but theres this newfangled thing now https://developer.apple.com/games/game-porting-toolkit/#evaluation-environment
in reply to bugwitched 🐝🐇🦨 🎃🧙🐸

@bug 🦝 this page never loaded for me but like, isn't that for game deveopers to do it? not sure how well gamemaker would work with it
in reply to Jess🌺 :itsfree: :therian:

thats the target audience ya but its also just a command-line tool to straight-up run a game exe
in reply to Jess🌺 :itsfree: :therian:

Curious and somewhat concerning that WINE won't work. Is there a specific error they are getting? Perhaps the model of Mac might be affecting this? (like, is it one if the Apple Silicon models? Then it could be a case of x86 emulation falling over)
in reply to Techokami

@techokami 🦝 not sure, we haven't pressed it too much, just looking for like "try this and it's easy and will work"
in reply to Jess🌺 :itsfree: :therian:

Mac deprecated OpenGL and doesn't support Vulkan, Because Apple, they simply cannot stand openness. So... yeah, Mac doesn't really have graphics. >,,> Unless you use their special proprietary API.
in reply to Jess🌺 :itsfree: :therian:

@frost they depreciated it in favor of Metal, their own multi-layered graphics api, which takes better advantage of the integrated GPU in Apple Silicon. OpenGL is still present and runs on top of Metal through a compatibility layer, but it’s forever locked at version 4.1 from 2010.

The reason they deprecated it is because very few developers were continuing to produce new games for OpenGL. Metal, however, has been pretty successful.
