@bazkie The trick is that it'll beep at you about 300ms before impact and that is what Elon will use to evade responsibility.

not a lawyer but pretty sure you're liable for the deaths no matter what. Elon might get a nominal fine a decade or now or something.

Cartoon of the trolly problem, but the trolly is a Tesla and the people are having a party in the street instead of being tied to the tracks.

Trick question. If you choose to keep autopilot on, it will turn itself off and hand back control with less than a second remaining until impact. Black-box type data will show the user was in control at the moment the people were hit, so it's clearly not an autopilot issue and the driver is 100% at fault.
