For any effort longer than a sprint, you’re limited by your ability to deliver oxygen through your bloodstream in order to convert stored energy to usable energy. Power isn’t about muscles, it’s about oxygen delivery.
Sort of. There’s a hyperbolic curve that relates the duration of the effort to power output. Structured training, metabolic pathways and the like are a deep rabbit hole.
