Can't get #DireWolf to actually transmit the packet audio burst via my FT-991a. I have this config setting:

ADEVICE plughw:CODEC,0

Which corresponds to these devices:

I'm listening in on 144.390 MHz on my handheld while my FT-991a is transmitting, but all I get is the transmission starting and ending with no audio inside it. Any suggestions?

how close are you with the handheld? You could just be desensing. I had to put my other HT in another room when I was testing the CW mod for example.

I don't think that's the issue here because the transmitting antenna is outside and I'm several meters away from it indoors.

Do you have the input source for the 991A set to USB? Assuming you are in D-F mode, it's option 072 in the settings menu.

have you checked, if you can send any audio through that USB device into the æther? Maybe something is muted or the level is incorrect.

No dice. Tried playing a music file through the same audio device after running this to start transmitting and there was only silence. :(
rigctl -s 38400 -m 1035 set_ptt 1

Have you checked with alsamixer if the output is muted or the level set to zero?
in reply to Ayron :therian:

Yep. Unmuted and the volume is maxed out. I also tried unmuting and muting again to make sure.

By the way, WSJT-X works just fine with the same device.

I think I fixed it. Had to set 077 FM PKT PORT SELECT to USB. :3
