& was that ever shown to be a valid excuse? (I really wasn't paying attention, I felt it was 'chickens coming home to roost', and then being used as an excuse to buy/sell more arms.

@Chris Ford We know that Afghanistan was the location of Osama bin Laden when 9/11 happened. I'll let you decide if that constitutes a valid excuse, but it was certainly the reason for the invasion.
