Is it still considered #soldering if I'm using a MAPP torch to do it? :3c

if the metal melting point is below 450C it's soldering, if it's above that it's brazing, regardless of the metal composition, apparently. oh and of course if the metal is the same as the metal being joined it's welding.

how did the MAPP work?

I did part of a car radio (of course) install with a propane torch

I still have a radio shack branded butane soldering iron -- somewhere

It worked a charm. Since I'm working with aluminum and brass rods, it's hard to get stuff hot enough with a soldering iron alone.
