I'm interested in them because back when I was doing century rides, I'd eat stuff like muffins, chips, and sandwich halves, but my stomach would eventually give up on digesting them and I'd suffer towards the ends of my rides.
I did try to keep on top of hydration and generally did okay as long as it wasn't too hot out. I do recall some really bad times with nasty migraines caused by dehydration, mostly on hot days again.

I’d agree to stay away from the starch stuff - chips, bread etc. - just takes too long to digest.
How long have you been randonneuring for and what sort of distances are you doing?
