Hey #HamRadio #AmateurRadio fedi people: there's a shit ton of radio-related stuff near me on GovDeals, I don't have ANY clue about radio hardware (hopefully getting my license this year), is any of this something that would be of any use to a new ham and at a good price? I literally have no idea if any of this would even be usable for me I just noticed there was a whole lot of radio stuff all of a sudden

in reply to wizardry variants lori • • •Hmm, browsing through quickly, I would say most things appear to be commercial or business band radios, which I'm not sure could be programmed to amateur frequencies. Some might, others won't, YMMV.
The two things that did catch my eye were the Yaesu FT-60s and the Kenwood D700A. Both are older models, but definitely still hold their own. If you can get them for a decent price, I'd say they're worth it.
For anything else, I'd say do your research first
