Since nobody's going to get serious about saving the world from the guaranteed destruction by climate change, I only hope we can come up with the technology to get the asteroid here sooner.

That’s nothing! The Higg’s boson could undergo spontaneous decay to a lower energy level which would be incompatible with the existence of the collective of other subatomic particles. If that happens, the universe would decay to pure vacuum.
