Now I just need to set aside some time to install Gentoo. :3 #Gentoo #Linux

Debating my options to escape #systemd . (Currently on Arch Linux.)

What do you all think? :blobfoxthink: #Linux #BSD

I've got the same problem. MX_Linux seems to be drifting toward System disease. PCLinuxOS isn't as good as it used to be. At least on my hardware. But PCLinuxOS-Debian is good if you don't get some of the bugs it has.
I'm on MX now and I don't agree with some of the things they have done, like renaming all the apps MX-[some different name]. What on earth were they thinking???

Would it be crazy to attempt to install #Gentoo via a chroot from my running Arch installation? :3c #Linux
in reply to Neil E. Hodges

No, chrooting is the primary method. It doesn't matter though if there is already a system present or not, you will not want to keep it anyways 😏
in reply to Neil E. Hodges

Installing Gentoo in a chroot is actually a really good way to hone your skill set. You should also look into a Gentoo container with either Docker or Podman (but knowing you don't like systemd bloat, I am certain you would prefer Podman)

I honed my skills with Gentoo plenty back in the 2000s, so don't worry about that. :P

Haha excellent! I should really do a new install myself as I have forgotten so much about Gentoo
