Well said.

This applies basically to any public broadcasting: It may not be perfect. It may have lots of shortcomings. But it's still way better this way than without them. And you have to wonder why people with really much money want public broadcasting gone...

Let's see if this autotransformer works. #AmateurRadio #HamRadio

All that work to build a parallel coax transformer and it still doesn't cover the whole 6m band. :(

I don't know why, but this LMR-240-75 was way harder to strip and break out into terminals than normal 50Ω LMR-240 is. :/

It's doing what it's supposed to do, but I need to add a variable capacitor to compensate for the added inductive reactance.

. @clover mentioned a few days ago that AI-generated images are becoming more and more yellow as the LLMs are trained on the output of other LLM runs. #ModelCollapse #AI #LLMs

"Amazon Creek"

Kent took me almost all the way to the end of the trail to see this. We didn't get an awesome sunset, but it was still a great ride.

"Lost in the Woods"

I ended up wandering in the woods for a total of two hours trying to find my way to the highway. I knew where the highway was, but the hiking trails didn't follow straight lines.

damn. You could try a balun with a winding ratio of 1:1.4 but I never tried that.

The fact I ran away three times as a preteen/teenager and spent the whole time either walking or taking the county bus was a pretty good sign that I didn't like the stifling, car-centric world of suburbia. :P

I still have fond memories of walking through random business areas of the suburbs back then, though.

"Shaft Collar as Decaleur Mount"

I wasn't too satisfied with the cable hanger I turned into a decaleur mount, as it wouldn't hold strongly enough to not turn on the steerer.

I modified a shaft collar to act as one instead, and everything is super-solid now!
