Probably can't hurt. The scam works again and again. These people are professionals and know how to set people under pressure to get them doing ridiculous things bypassing any reasonable judgement. And many older folks have a diminished capacity for such judgements in the first place. It's a sick game.

We have had cases here where old people get caught up in this and their bankers, Western Union and others have point blank told them it is a scam, but they do it anyway. Not sure you can help everyone.

Nope. Not without taking their freedom away. Which not every child and grandchild is qualified to take on.

However if everyone stopped giving money to scammers, then they would stop scamming.
