Learning how to ride motorcycles (and riding them frequently for a few years) has significantly improved my #bicycle handling skills. :3 #motorcycle #cycling

My motorcycle riding has made me a more defensive driver as well.

@murph
Absolutely!

Getting into bicycling and motorcycling gave me a whole new perspective on road travel. They made me acutely aware of how small vehicles use the roads and position themselves, and that significantly improved my car driving.

I am not compliant with the EPA emissions regulations because of my lactose intolerance and enjoyment of cheese and ice cream. :3c

Alternate timeline where #Commodore home computers became the standard instead of PCs. 🤔

Hard to envision an alternate timeline where this happens, but there was a window of opportunity... the VisiCalc revolution made the Apple ][ a big success, but Apple was still a small time manufacturer that wouldn't be able to scale up production and reduce costs the way Commodore could.

But the PET lacked the graphics capabilities of the Apple ][, which is why VisiCalc was designed for the Apple. What if the PET had better graphics capabilities, to make it the better choice of VisiCalc platform?

The original PET was limited to 512 ROM characters. An alternative design could have combined 128 ROM characters with 128 RAM defined characters, allowing high resolution graphics.

If VisiCalc came out on the PET first, then it's possible Commodore could have built up a big enough lead before the IBM PC to establish it as the main business computer standard. Ideally, the VIC-20 is replaced with a PET compatible "color PET".

As a Santa Cruz owner, I would have loved to cross shop it with a new Baja - though my previous experience with Subaru is a mixed bag!

The SC is very engaging to drive, and has a great tech package.

Any good #RISCV desktops or laptops out there yet? :3c

I'm using the DC Roma Laptop II. I don't know whether I'd call it "good" but it's certainly usable for ordinary tasks. The main problems you're going to have are compatibility-related.

This is someone who has more at stake than almost anyone else.

Just broke one stainless steel spoon and bent another getting some ice cream. Time for an ice cream scoop, I guess. 0_0

@jztusk try looking for an ice cream paddle instead 😉 doesn't work very well for cones, but is great for getting ice cream into a bowl

I ordered steel brake lines for my CBR650R back in April, and only now did I have the energy to look into it. After calling The Moto Connection and not getting anyone, I called HEL Performance directly. They said that their business with The Moto Connection was terminated shortly after I'd placed my order, and said that I'd have to either go through The Moto Connection or #PayPal to resolve it. Thankfully, they did sell me the same part directly for the amount I'd originally paid, even though the part is more expensive now. :)

I filed a dispute with PayPal, but they denied it because it had been too long since the transaction. Then I called The Moto Connection and left a message about wanting to cancel my order. I'll keep calling throughout the week, but if they don't get back to me by Friday, I think my only recourse is a chargeback through my credit card. :(

(The stock brake lines on my CBR feel worse than the TRP Hylex hydraulic disc brakes on my Crust Romanceur bicycle. :/ )
in reply to Neil E. Hodges

Sorry to hear about your bad luck with the shop there.

You will love the feel of the new brake-line when you get it installed. Those rubber lines are really spongey.

Finally got a hold of The Moto Connection this morning and they quickly refunded my original order. 👍

. @clover and I tried playing Kirby and the Amazing Mirror on GBA a while back, but the OEM Game Link Cable wasn't great at not coming unplugged and the third-party wireless equivalent we found didn't really work. :(

Today, we tried playing it on Nintendo Switch Online with two Switches set up for local multiplayer. It was so laggy! Not only was the input lag bad, but the network lag caused the game to lock up for a split second every several seconds. :/

Especially when a pair of Raspberry Pis configured to emulate the same setup would run far better.

Complaining about "lifestyle changes" caused by transit expansion is straight up pearl-clutching. :/
