Looks like I need to match a ~100 ohm full loop antenna with reflector, for 70cm. What are some of your favorite transmission line impedance match devices? :3 #AmateurRadio #HamRadio

Seems like a quarter wavelength line of 75 ohm coax should be close enough. 🤔

"Stay #4: Bacon Bicycle Hostel"

We had a bit of trouble finding it, and it involved a lot of steep climbs, but it was well worth it when we did! It was a full-on hostel, with a real kitchen and everything. The TV/DVD/VCR unit refused to play VHS tapes, but would play DVDs. I mainly listened to the radio, however.

We ended up ordering a pizza on our second night there.

Expecting your first attempt at something to be perfect sounds like a great way to set yourself up for disappointment after disappointment in life. :/

Truth. I cooked my first brisket yesterday. Followed the recipe exactly, but the meat was still tougher than shoe leather. Disappointment was high.

If one has time to cook there are lots of great Indian recipes for lentils, & other pulses that are better for us than beef & much better for the environment.

If the US is the way I think it is, it's only a matter of time before another sociopathic narcissist sends us on the same kind of journey again. Trump no longer being president doesn't solve the systemic issues that led to his presidency. :/
in reply to Neil E. Hodges

The main issue is that you are ruled by 2 parties whose agenda is to impose the oligarchs rule alternating carrot or stick to inflict it upon the people.

Never forget that the carrot party would rather lose to the stick by moving further to the right on each election cycle, than to support any of the popular left-wing policies that would have mobilized the common people to vote for them (You know: Universal healthcare, living wages, end to wars and genocide support...)

Yep. :/

Why thousands of New Yorkers swap gas for induction stoves in clean energy push: ‘It makes sense’ | US news | The Guardian https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2026/apr/02/new-york-induction-stoves-climate-energy

in reply to Neil E. Hodges

They, & pepsico, their owner, refused to join a program to pay farm workers $0.01/pound more for the tomatoes they harvest.

So, there is a good reason to avoid them, if you have an alternative.
Sorry to say. :-(

Pretty sure all of these corporations are just as evil.
in reply to Neil E. Hodges

They may be, but, at least in the US, some are part of an agreement that pays workers a bit better.
