Have always been using Slackware (and derivatives like VectorLinux), since the '90s. My fave.
Currently Slackware 15.0 on my main machine (laptop) and Slint on a mini-pc.

I realize that living in a walkable city doesn't fully isolate me from rising fuel costs, but at least I'm not dinged both at shops and by my chosen modes of transportation at the same time. :P
